What’s the connection between Halloween and orchids?Both are weirdly wonderful and fun and both arrive in late October. There wont be any tricks in the Vintage Fieldhouse at Old School Square. There will be lots of treats because the fieldhouse will be turned into a garden of delights by the Delray Beach Orchid Society for their 33rd annual show and sale, “Orchids On The Square,” Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22.
The vintage fieldhouse will be filled with glorious scent and spectacular color, including the palest lavender to the deepest magenta, lemon yellow to bold orange, pale pinks to brilliant reds, and unusual ones – black, green and brown, all to delight the senses.
Florida’s best growers will have orchids from Venezuela, The Philippines, Thailand, Costa Rica, Guatemala and many hybridized by local growers available for purchase.
In addition to orchids, attendees will have fun participating in raffles for beautiful orchids, orchid supplies and a few surprises to delight the winner. Vote for the “Best in Show” at the display of artwork from budding artists at The Milagro Center. The very talented artists vie for cash prizes, which are awarded after the show.
