VETU Boca Chic-Giving Fundraiser in Support of Place of Hope

November 7, 2024 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free

VÊTU, a family-owned boutique in Boca Raton, will be hosting an exciting holiday season kickoff and fashion show this November in order to support Florida-based Place of Hope.

This event follows successful evenings featuring Chef Amanda Currie (Hell’s Kitchen) and Jay Shapiro (Founder and Publisher, South Florida Magazine), the latter of which offered support to the Boca Raton Toy Drive.

VÊTU Boca’s Chic-Giving welcomes all fashion-lovers for an evening of delicious alcohol provided by Muscle Vodka, discussion, and a lively fashion show starring models scouted by from Ms. International World CEO and expert model Angela Posillico. Proceeds from the evening will be donated to Place of Hope in order to continue their work helping and protecting survivors of abuse, homelessness, poverty, and human trafficking in South Florida

“When my family began our business, we envisioned bringing customers and our community an innovative shopping experience,” said VÊTU Boutique Founder Diana Alava. “This Chic-Giving will not only be an exciting event for fashion fans, but will benefit an incredible Florida organization in the process. I couldn’t be more excited and hope to see everyone in our community here!”

“Place of Hope is the largest children and family’s organization in Palm Beach County and Treasure Coast caring for abused and neglected children, aged out foster youth, homeless youth and families, single mothers with dependent children facing crisis, and human trafficking survivors.” said Place of Hope Founding CEO, Charles Bender. “We are incredibly thankful for VÊTU’s support. Together, we are making generational change in the lives of thousands locally.”

“Charity is in the true spirit of the upcoming holiday season, and I could not be more honored to be part of such a wonderful evening,” said Angela Posillico.

The Chic-Giving Fundraiser will take place on November 7th from 5pm to 8pm.

Mother Francia Alava was born in the Dominican Republic and has been sewing since the age of 8. In the 70s, she migrated to the Bronx, New York and worked on 26th in Madison Avenue’s garment district. In the 80s, Francia moved to New Jersey and sewed from home for luxury fashion labels. Throughout all the years of working from home, mother and daughter designed 90% of the clothing they wore. Everything from dresses, coats, suits, and more.

Daughter Diana Alava was inspired by her mother and graduated from Berkeley College with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Marketing Management and Design. After college, the mother-daughter duo moved to West Palm Beach, Florida. Francia went on to build a rapport as one of Palm Beach’s Master Tailors. Diana, who worked twenty years raising her own daughter, also owned her own business while gaining experience in different areas of the fashion industry including modeling, design, visual merchandising, buying, sales, and executive management in retail marketing. Today, Granddaughter Leediana is dual enrolled in high school/college courses. With her savviness in technology, the trio has come together to build a family brand.
