The Boca Raton Historical Society was founded in 1972 as a private, membership organization headquartered in historic Town Hall. The Society owns and operates the Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum, which opened in 2021 with state-of-the-art History Alive! exhibits showcasing Boca Raton’s rich history. The Historical Society and the Museum serve the community by collecting, preserving and sharing its history through exhibits, tours, lectures, school programs and activities for children and families.
