Florida Atlantic University finally has a deal for naming rights to the football stadium.

On the agenda for Tuesday’s board of trustees meeting is approval of an agreement with Flagler Credit Union. The company would pay $22.5 million over 15 years to have its name on the stadium and company logos on signs. According to the agenda item, the company also would get “multi-media rights” for the men’s and women’s basketball teams and the baseball, softball and volleyball teams.

The 30,000-seat stadium has been nameless since it opened 13 years ago. In 2013, the trustees approved an agreement with GEO Group, the Boca Raton-based private prison and detention company. Student and public opposition was strong. Critics dubbed the stadium “Owlcatraz,” mocking the FAU mascot. The deal—for $6 million over 12 years—fell apart.

This agreement should not be controversial. According to the agenda item, Flagler Credit Union has operated in South Florida for roughly a quarter-century. The non-profit is an entity of Michigan-based Dort Financial Credit Union. FAU has scheduled a news conference for 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the stadium.
