Florida Atlantic University trustees on Monday chose former State Rep. Adam Hasner to be FAU’s next president.
The vote by the 13 trustees was unanimous. All praised the other finalists—Florida State University School of Business Dean Michael Hartline and University of Maine Provost John Volin—but cited Hasner’s ties to the community and background in Tallahassee. Hasner works now as a vice-president of GEO Group.
Chair Piero Bussani pronounced himself “thrilled” and called it an “exciting day.” The Board of Governors must approve Hasner, but that is a foregone conclusion.
I’ll have much more in my Tuesday post.
