We’re in the throes of family travel season and I know many Boca broods are choosing to pack up and hit the road for their spring and summer vacations…and we’re one of them!

Every year, in addition to our quarterly trips to Walt Disney World, my family and I drive up the eastern United States to spend a few weeks in southern Maine. In fact, a recent Consumer Pulse Survey poll revealed that 43 percent of Floridians like us will travel with their families in 2018.

It’s understandable that not every parent is up for traveling that far north by car as my family. So to help Boca road-trippers make the most of their vacation time closer to home, I chatted with my friends at Chevrolet. The car brand recently enlisted the help of well-known data scientist and road trip guru, Randy Olson, to help calculate the most efficient (and fun!) road trip route around Florida. Our goal was to help people visit some of the most well-known yet family-friendly attractions in our state–including a handful of stops near Boca Raton. A “state-cation” if you will!

So if you’re up for it, be sure to set aside a few days. Because Olson found that if you were to complete this entire Florida route (above), it would take more than 14 hours to drive with a distance of more than 780 miles. Not to mention the time you’ll want to spend at each attraction! You can find an interactive version of the Florida map featuring all 11 stops, here.

Where are you headed with the family this spring or summer? Are any of these stops on your travel bucket list? Comment below!
