Did someone say “touchdown”? Football season is fast approaching, so it’s never too early to make plans about where to watch the game(s).

Football season food, drink specials on tap at Burger Bar

With 19 screens tuned into both NFL and NCAA games this fall, Burger Bar (4350 Donald Ross Road, Palm Beach Gardens) game specials are offered for day and night games, from Thursday Night Football through Monday Night Football.

That means beer specials (buckets: 5 bottles) of domestic ($14) and imported ($19), plus sliders, fries, smoked fish dip and more. The burgers include the The Delicious Hot Mess (pictured; $15), with a cheddar cheese skirt, jalapenos, applewood smoked bacon, Swiss cheese and blasting sauce.

Miami Dolphins opener block party at Himmarshee

If you’re looking for a bigger party for the Miami Dolphins season opener on Sept. 11, then the block party at Fort Lauderdale’s Himmarshee Public House is the place to be. A 16-foot LED screen will show the Miami Dolphins vs. Seattle Seahawks game, and all of Southwest 2nd Avenue will be closed while you eat outside (with waiter service!), and drink beer from local breweries, or cocktails, etc. The event starts at 1 p.m., and is free, with food specials during the game. Kickoff is at 4:05 p.m. The Himmarshee Public House is at 201 SW 2nd St., Fort Lauderdale; 954/616-5275.
