Palm Beach County-based nonprofit Promise Fund will be hosting its first-ever Community Wellness Fair to raise awareness and aid in the detection of breast cancer.

The event will be an opportunity for non-insured or under-insured women to receive free mammography and cancer screenings, as well as speak to medical professionals and learn more about breast and cervical cancer. Attendees can also enjoy free food, raffles, and a bounce castle for kids. There will also be Promise Fund Navigators on site to answer any questions in Spanish, English and Creole.

Having regular mammograms can help detect breast cancer at early stage, and women can also do monthly self exams to track any changes in their breasts. Promise Fund has a helpful guide for mammograms and breast exams here.

The Community Wellness Fair will be held on Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Manatial de Vida of Church of All Nations, 1300 N.W. Fourth Ave. in Boca Raton. Those interested in receiving a free mammogram must register in advance by calling 877/427-7664.
