Sushi lovers rejoice! Sushi by Bou, with multiple locations in New York, New Jersey and Illinois, has opened its doors in West Palm Beach to fanfare. Specializing in serving a traditional omakase experience, Sushi by Bou is truly a multi-sensory journey. Meaning “I’ll leave it up to you,” omakase is a meal comprised of dishes selected by the chef. Guests temporarily enter a world where decisions need not be made, giving them the luxury to relax and enjoy the entire process.

Aside from using the finest ingredients by top chefs, a significant part of achieving that special immersive dining experience is the interior decor. Sushi by Bou partner and CEO Erika London shares, “Our unique and intimate dining experience is designed to engage all the senses which is why we carefully curate every aspect of the experience including the venue design, music playlists, the omakase lineup and the specialty cocktails. Sushi by Bou isn’t just incredible sushi, it invigorates all of your senses and keeps you coming back for more.”
The location influences the decor with each Sushi by Bou embodying its own personality. London says that “some of our most popular vibes include 90s hip hop, disco sushi, Roaring 20s and Tokyo Alley.” Director of Design Humberto De Andrade is instrumental in the creative process. De Andrade has been working with the Sushi by Bou team since the very beginning, so he understands the core essence of the brand. London and De Andrade are dynamic collaborators. “De Andrade’s creativity and impeccable design allows him to push the limit with every single location and bring the vision I have in my head to life,” says London.

For the West Palm Beach location, De Andrade was inspired by “classic design elements from the area such as eccentric patterns, bold colors, and unique textures.” However, it’s not your traditional Palm Beach style that we are accustomed to. In true Sushi by Bou flair, there is a twist to the ordinary, amplifying the aesthetic through a modern lens.

The space is full of details ensuring that guests will discover a new design component with each visit. One thing that you can’t miss are the oversized lush feather chandeliers, a favorite among guests. Velvet draping and seating give the space a luxurious coziness. A full length leaning mirror reflects the buzz happening in real time while adding a casual welcoming vibe. However, for De Andrade, the beautiful floral wallpaper on the side wall is his top pick. “Not only does it feel very West Palm, but it’s also warm and inviting without losing the enticing aspect of it,” says De Andrade.
For our Boca readers, buckle up and get excited because you won’t have to drive to Clematis for amazing omakase. Slated to open in late summer, Sushi by Bou will add a Boca Raton location with luxury and glam inspired by the 1920s art deco era. “Think big architectural features, stone and polished finishes, and of course the best sushi and vibes in town. This will definitely be a gorgeous location and a local favorite,” says De Andrade.

London says that “As the brand continues to expand nationally, our team is taking more creative liberties to design truly remarkable omakase rooms.” Each location has to have the “WOW factor.” Sushi by Bou West Palm Beach hits the mark and we have no doubt that it will do so in Boca Raton, too.
