Not only is a stay at the Kimpton Palomar South Beach a real treat, but the boutique hotel offers the type of stay where glamour, location and coziness unite.
When I had the chance to visit for a stay recently, not only did I feel pampered, but I felt like I was tucked in a quiet corner of Miami Beach. With a sparkling rooftop pool that beckons those who visit to take time to relax, there’s also a rooftop bar with delicious food, signature drinks and carefully selected beers and wines.
Kimpton Hotel Palomar South Beach’s private rooftop pool and two-tier roof deck is not only a relaxing and entertaining feature, but it also boasts stylish décor, plush lounge area seating, and panoramic views of the Collins Canal. We were excited to catch the sunset during our visit, all while holding a refreshing mojito and taking in the impressive pink and orange hues.
For me, the hotel was the place that a perfect staycation is made of—one that was worth the drive from Broward County where I reside—and it gave me the chance to enjoy everything that the area has to offer without the stress of a drive back home.
Not only is the hotel the perfect size, it’s also in the perfect location where restaurants, bars and other types of entertainment are available for visitors to enjoy nearby. And a lot of these are a quick stroll away, making it a quiet destination perfectly placed closely to the buzzing energy in Miami Beach.
Upscale, unique and centrally located accommodations
One of my favorite parts of staying at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar South Beach was being able to wake up in the morning, open the curtains that covered the expansive windows, and having a chance to take in the warm Florida sunshine (P.S., The hotel’s 96 rooms feature private patios available for nearly every guest). This made the experience even better, because it was the perfect spot to start the day with a cup of coffee or end the night with your drink of choice, as you watch the cars whizzing by below and the people walking to their destinations of choice.
One of these nearby destinations, Lincoln Road, is a dining and shopping mecca that locals and tourists enjoy in Miami Beach. Featuring a movie theater, many shops and restaurants that cover every taste, this is a great spot to visit during your stay.

Relaxing, beachy and creative design
When I stayed at the hotel, I was impressed with the quiet and peaceful colors that cover every nook and cranny of the property, and how relaxed it made my stay. I am very sensitive when it comes to a room’s colors and overall vibes, and I was not surprised to learn that the property’s design is inspired by the calm hues of the sea and the way that the spirit of the ocean can rejuvenate and change one’s perspective.
It’s no surprise then that the hotel features a luxury yacht-inspired lobby that incorporates art displays meant to resemble the ripples of the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel’s design is thanks to Miami architect and designer Kobi Karp, and it’s obvious that Karp takes delicate care of the designs presented at the hotel, all designs that are inspired by the beauty of waterfront and ocean experiences.
Then there’s Kimpton’s artist in residence program, which offers creators a chance to show off their work at the hotel. The first artist partnering with Kimpton Palomar South Beach in this year-round initiative is Milda Aleknaite, a South Florida-based artist with work inspired by Miami, a city full of energy and beauty.
Aleknaite’s work impresses those who see it, with pieces that show off an expertise when it comes to being a part of alternative art shows and multiple exhibitions that have showcased her eccentric-yet-classic style that inspires a love for Miami.
Thanks to all of this, you’ll not only feel relaxed, but will love sitting at the hotel’s gorgeous lobby, where there’s also free coffee in the morning and a wine happy hour for guests in the evening. It’s the perfect way to feel pampered and unwind.

Impressive additions for guests
The hotel offers other fun additions for guests as well. First, there are the perfectly selected mini-bar offerings from the shops located in nearby Sunset Harbour. Then, you will come in and experience a comfy turn-down service that’s paired with local bites to enjoy your end of the day. There are also in-room yoga mats, a 24-hour onsite fitness center, and let’s not forget the daily wine hour. Why not try it out after your workout? A treat is certainly recommended!
For those who love to explore, Hotel Palomar has their own selection and fleet of complimentary PUBLIC bikes. So, don’t be afraid to take them for a spin during your visit!
With all these offerings, I can honestly say that my stay was magical. The Kimpton Palomar South Beach is a perfect spot for locals and out of towners to escape.
