The Palm Beach County School Board voted unanimously Monday to fire former Spanish River High School Principal William Latson.

The action rescinds the board’s 4-3 vote on Oct. 7 to reinstate Latson, who in a 2018 email told a Spanish River parent that he “can’t say the Holocaust is a factual historical event because I am not in a position to do so as a school district employee.”

Those who voted to reinstate Latson did so, they said, based on the recommendation of an administrative law judge who heard Latson’s appeal of his firing last October. Chairman Frank Barbieri brought the issue back to the board for Monday’s special meeting.

I’ll have much more in my Tuesday post.
