After taking over Le Rivage in 2023, the new owners have announced that they are closing the doors to the French restaurant.

Chef Paul Collange originally opened Le Rivage in 2004, and when he retired in 2023, the restaurant was purchased by Ludmila Prodonov.

At the time of our review, our food editor wrote, “Don’t overlook this small, unassuming bastion of traditional French cookery…Good food presented without artifice at a fair price never goes out of fashion.”

The homepage of the website now reads an announcement of its closing, blaming customers who were upset by the sale.

“We were faced with terrible rudeness, anger and hatred from customers who found out that the restaurant was sold! Customers who refused to pay, who literally ran away so as not to pay when in fact they were not able to walk! People who criticized us even for bread! People who completely boycott us!”

The Palm Beach Post reports that the restaurant had an eviction notice from the Palm Beach County Clerk’s Office. Prodonov also told the newspaper that there was an issue with no-shows on reservations.

“We hope that this will make happy people who wanted us to close the restaurant,” the closing notice says.
