Lefkes Estiatorio has closed after nearly two years at the Delray Beach Market.

The Greek restaurant with locations in Athens, Santorini, and New Jersey, opened in Delray in August 2024. It was the first restaurant to open at the Delray Beach Market after it shut down its food hall in early 2023.

As of writing, no formal announcement has been made by Lefkes on social media. Its last Instagram post is from a week ago promoting its all-day happy hour on Mondays through Wednesdays. Per a post on the Bar Bits South Florida Facebook page from Thursday, May 21, Lefkes “shut its doors following reports of operational and financial struggles.”

An Instagram story by Mahj on the Beach says the mahjong group was not notified by the restaurant of its closure despite having an event planned at Lefkes. According to the Instagram story, “I found out today through a friend … that they closed suddenly—without notice to me—which is wild because just 2 days ago we were confirming event details.”

Our phone calls to the restaurant went unanswered, OpenTable has the location listed as “temporarily offline,” and the restaurant is listed as permanently closed on Google.
