If you think your Boca kid’s obsession with LEGO bricks couldn’t get any greater, think again.

Starting May 5, the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium is inviting local families to go on a LEGO adventure! My daughter Avery is counting down the days…. So, grab your suitcase (or oversized diaper bag/backpack in my case) and voyage to the Palm Beach County museum to embark on a journey to exotic locations through all different types of terrain.

Where will you go? How will you get there? What will you build? Those are the three questions the exhibit “Travel Adventure” Featuring LEGO bricks aims to have visiting tourists answer by the end of their visit. Avery and I are hoping space a la “Star Wars”…but we’ll see!

Guests of all ages will be challenged to think creatively to plan and build LEGO vehicles to maneuver through mountains, jungles, oceans, deserts and more. Take your adventurous spirit to the next level by dressing up as a pilot, sailor, racer and expert world explorer as you take the wheel of life-sized toy vehicles and engage in dynamic play. With this exhibit, Toy Story Land (and its massive crowds) at Disney’s Hollywood Studios can wait for fall, am I right?

You’ll even be able to share your LEGO creations through a photo booth set up against a destination backdrop. Visit far away destinations like San Francisco, Paris, Hawaii and more without ever leaving South Florida! LEGO’s larger cousin, the Duplo brick, will also be on hand for younger children. I loved the Duplo building phase in our house. They were so much easier to clean up…and less painful to step on versus the little guys Avery plays with now. Ouch.

Tickets to “Travel Adventure” Featuring LEGO Bricks are included in the general admission, which is $16.95 for adults, $14.95 for seniors, $12.95 for children (3-12), FREE for children under 3, and FREE for members. Get ready to build adventurously through Sept. 29!
