Back-to-school shopping is just around the corner for Palm Beach County students, but for some families, rising costs for supplies can be a heavy burden.

On July 27, select Verizon stores across the country will be giving away $3 million in backpacks, including in the Boca Raton area.

Round Room, an authorized retailer through Verizon, will be hosting the School Rocks Backpack Giveaway to help families start the school year off right. Some locations will also be distributing other school supplies. Should there be any leftover backpacks, they will be donated to a local school selected by the store. Over the last 13 years, Round Room has donated 1.5 million backpacks.

Local Verizon locations hosting the backpack giveaways:

  • 1200 W. Yamato Road, Ste. A6, in Boca Raton
  • 2521 N. Federal Highway in Boca Raton
  • 11925 Southern Blvd., Ste 2, Royal Palm Beach
  • 4951 Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, Unit 1200, in Westlake
  • 2105 S. Parrott Ave., Suite 101, in Okeechobee
  • 2091 Indian River Blvd. in Vero Beach
