Summer days are drifting away, but the memories of fabulous escapades are never far. It’s been nice to get a peak into everyone’s adventures, thanks to social media. Inspired by all the wanderlust images and videos, I have asked local friends to share a snapshot of their own summer getaways. Boasting diverse travels near and far, this eclectic group of individuals shared one answer in common… There were too many memorable moments to highlight. Now that’s the tell tale sign of a successful summer!

Most Memorable Moment

When we visited Corfu, an island off of Greece, we found a local beach bar and swam in the gorgeous Adriatic Sea.

Top 3 To-Dos (in Greece)

  • Try the desert Baklava
  • Eat some of the freshest seafood like tuna
  • Shop for unique handmade pieces

Favorite Shopping Purchase

A pair of pearl Dior earrings!

A good staycation in Miami!

Most Memorable Moment

For me I try to make everything memorable. This vacation was strictly stress free & relaxation based.

Top 3 To-Dos

  • Shopping & lunch at Makoto in Bal Harbor Shops is always a must.
  • The Spa at the Miami Beach EDITION is one of my favorites to relax & unwind then hit the beach to soak up the sun.
  • Dinner at Casa Tua with friends for dinner. Pro tip: Save room for dessert and order it all.

Favorite Shopping Purchase

I love anything from The Webster. It’s such a curated boutique with the best selection.

I’d love to go to Europe very soon.

Destinations Visited

Mediterranean Cruise with Azamara including Italy, Croatia, Greece, and Turkey

Most Memorable Moment

Lunch at Michelin recommended restaurant, Foša, in Zadar, Croatia. We met the chef and asked for something special—maybe a tasting menu of three courses—and he rolled out an astounding seven-course lunch. I will never forget that meal.

Top 3 To-Dos

  • Santorini: The famous 600 steps of the traditional road that connect the old port with the town of Fira. The walk is about 20-30 minutes, depending on your physical condition. It was grueling and very memorable.
  • Dubrovnik: Have the refreshing local cocktail, “The Hugo” made with elderflower liquor, mint, and Prosecco; lounge on the cliffside sun deck; and swim in the sea at Cave Bar More (not necessarily in that order).
  • Visit local wineries because Italy, Croatia, Greece and Turkey all have distinct and unique wines.

Favorite Shopping Purchase

Local wines and olive oil from Greece

Next Dreamy Travel Destination

I am headed to France next month for a river cruise with Riverside Cruises to cruise along the Rhône from Avignon to Lyon, sipping Châteauneuf-du-Pape and taking in the scenery with a group of dear friends.

Destinations Visited

Italy – Rome, Palermo, Camporeale/San Giuseppe Jato, Catania and Taormina (last four are on the island of Sicily)

Most Memorable Moment

Visiting my husband’s family in Camporeale, about an hour outside of Palermo. We spent the day cooking together, eating, seeing where his grandparents got married, visited their farm, playing with his little cousins and really understanding my husband’s Sicilian roots.

Top 3 To-Dos

  • Go to the Trevi Fountain at night to see the impressive sculptures lit up. It’s also less crowded!
  • Don’t pack your trip with too many activities. Leave time to wander around and explore local boutiques, restaurants, bars, art galleries, etc.
  • Find a local photographer and do a photo shoot during your trip to commemorate this special adventure.

Favorite Shopping Purchase

A dress and earrings from Parfois in Palermo, my new favorite store!

Destinations Visited

South of France – Cannes, Antibes, Cap Ferrat, and Monaco

Most Memorable Moment

We rented a super fun convertible so we could take in the full Côte d’Azur experience in style. However, fitting all of our luggage in a Ferrari was quite amusing, to say the least. We actually ordered custom suitcases exactly form-fitting the front trunk with more luggage selected to perfectly slide behind the seats. It worked great, but was nothing short of a Tetris packing exercise moving luggage in and out at each destination.

Top 3 To-Dos?

  • Throw down some chips at the roulette tables or on Black Jack is exhilarating, just don’t forget to take your passport if you plan to test your luck in Monaco.
  • Although just on the edge of Monaco, La Piscine by Jean-Georges captures the perfect view of the municipality, harbor, and the Mediterranean.
  • Somewhat a hidden gem is Club Dauphin on the southern tip of Cap Ferrat at the Four Seasons. The food is spectacular and the exclusive privacy is next level.

Favorite Shopping Purchase

Love the parade of shops in Monaco, but one of my favorites is exploring the designer shops in each hotel.

Destinations Visited

Three-weeks family road trip to North Georgia, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Athens (GA), Panama City Beach and a cruise on Margaritaville at Sea and a stay over in the Bahamas.

Most Memorable Moment

We all especially loved the cabin we stayed at in Georgia, Harry’s Hideaway. It was on a river surrounded by trees and 60 degree mornings in July.

Top 3 To-Dos

  • Wine tasting in North Georgia
  • Pigeon Forge – Stay at The Margaritaville Island Hotel overlooking the fountains at The Island.  Dollywood is also a must.
  • Panama City Beach – The crystal clear water was like nothing we have seen before.

Favorite Shopping Purchase

When we travel we focus on experiences and not things, so very little shopping.

Dreaming of Greece but I cannot wait for our next trip to St. Simons Island to celebrate our daughter’s 11th birthday at The King and Prince Golf Resort.
