To say that fans of MAI-KAI have been anxiously waiting for it to open is an understatement. Finally, after a four-year multi-million renovation, the legendary Polynesian restaurant has reopened. All the tiki touches and lush gardens that diners remember from its previous design are back alongside its iconic twice-nightly, 45-minute performances. The 26,000-square-foot fully restored space has eight themed rooms with 489 seats, plus a 150-person bar and lounge.

Originally opened in 1956, the 2.7-acre property has now been brought back to life by Kravitz Design, Perry-Becker Design and Tom “Typhoon Tommy” Allsmiller.

The menu spotlights the best of Polynesian flavors and even features cherished signature dishes like the Pupu Platter, BBQ ribs and Peking duck. While some can’t wait for the food, others are excited to sip on the tiki drinks. The Molokai bar features more than 50 specialty drinks. Yes, you read that number right. Cheers to that and welcome back!
