The names are in, and 47 women have been nominated for this year’s Woman Volunteer of the Year.
A tradition now in its 39th year and benefiting community programs from the Junior League of Boca Raton, area nonprofits have nominated the women who have volunteered their time and energy into furthering various worthy causes.
“We are excited to honor these 47 outstanding women,” Melody Cobbe, president of the Junior League of Boca Raton, said in a press release. “Their volunteer work sets the standard for community service.”
The winner—who is selected by an independent panel of judges organized by the Boca Raton Hospital Foundation—will be announced at the 39th Annual Woman Volunteer of the Year Luncheon on Nov. 5 at The Boca Raton. The event is co-chaired by Linda Paton and Victoria Matthews, and Tandy Robinson is serving as honorary chairwoman. The event will also include a runway fashion show, sporting looks from The Boca Raton’s boutiques.
Last year’s winner was Jeannine Morris, who was nominated by Place of Hope.
