Big changes coming to CityPlace this fall with the coming debuts of three new restaurants and a giant bowling alley-restaurant-arcade complex.
Taking over a huge swath of turf between Macy’s and Publix will beRevolutions Bowling, Bar & Grille, 35,000 square feet featuring 20 high-tech bowling alleys and the Grille sports bar, itself with space for a video game arcade, private VIP rooms and live entertainment. A specific menu hasn’t been set but look for such typical bar bites as nachos, sliders and gorgonzola-smothered potato chips, as well as burgers, fish sandwiches, wraps and fried baskets. The CityPlace Revolutions will be the 36thsuch complex from Jupiter-based Frank Entertainment Companies.
Taking over the old McCormick & Schmick’s space on Okeechobee Boulevard will be Pampas Grill, our own outpost of a mini-chain of churrascurias headquartered in Las Vegas. Look for the usual array of meats simply seasoned and roasted on giant skewers, then trucked around the dining room by waiters who will slice off as much as you want. There’s also a variety of a la carte items, along with a 50-item salad bar.
Replacing Kona Grill will be Florida’s 13th Mellow Mushroom pizzeria. (There’s got to be a Maui Wowie joke in there somewhere.) Along with pies like the Funky Chicken, Kosmic Karma, Thai Dye and, yes, Maui Wowie, will be the chain’s usual assortment of soups, salads, calzones and hoagies.
In the space occupied for a nanosecond or two by Carlos ‘n’ Charlie’s will beMojito Latin Cuisine & Bar. Think pan-Latin cuisine and more than a dozen custom mojitos plus live music.
