Slowly but surely, Delray Beach’s arts campus is inching toward a full reopening. While the Crest Theatre remains in limbo for live performances, the Creative Arts School, a linchpin in the Old School Square campus since its creation in 1995, will begin accepting students next month.

The educational nexus of the campus, the school had been shuttered for years following Old School Square’s transition into a city-run complex. It hosted a grand opening celebration on Nov. 1, which included meet-and-greets with the school’s instructors. But the institution really kicks into gear on Jan. 4 when it hosts an open house and registration event.

Aspiring and emerging artists—and perhaps adults who gave up the hobby years ago and are looking to hone their skills—are invited to attend and learn more about the variety of classes and workshops offered by the school. Classes begin just 10 days later, on Jan. 14.

The in-person registration event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 4 at Old School Square, 51 N. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach. For additional information, contact Program Administrator Yamilett Abejon at 561/243-7209 or email abejony@mydelraybeach.com.
