Historic Season for FAU Beach Volleyball Team
Let’s begin on the beach! No. 12 Florida Atlantic beach volleyball’s remarkable season came to a close on the big stage the first weekend of May in the opening round of the NCAA Championship. The Sandy Owls fell in a hard-fought 3-2 battle against the No. 5 LSU Tigers. Congratulations to the team—click here to learn more and support FAU beach volleyball!
Owls Up at The Boca Raton

Hot off the FAU men’s basketball Final Four appearance, Head Coach Dusty May took some time to meet with The Boca Raton club members as well as members of Men Giving Back. Men Giving Back collectively funds grants to non-proft organizations throughout South Palm Beach County. Coach May discussed FAU’s historic season and excitement heading into next season, messages and gameplans he shares with his players, and how we all can help lift up our hometown teams. Boca Bacchanal Celebrates Exquisite Wine and Food

Cheers to the always fabulous Boca Bacchanal, an annual celebration of fine wine and food benefitting the Boca Raton Historical Society! The three-day event included four memorable vintner/distiller dinners and an enjoyable Grand Tasting at The Addison. The Paige Kornblue Show captured all of the food, wine and fun, recording on location at Boca Bacchanal’s Grand Tasting! Visit The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum this summer Wednesday through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at our historic Town Hall on Federal Highway.
Angel Moms Spread Their Wings at Brunch and Benefit

Hope. Angels. Community. That was what the Angel Moms Brunch and Benefit, Hope in Bloom, was all about on April 25 at Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club to celebrate volunteers and raise funds for Place of Hope residents and projects. “The extraordinary women in this community have rallied around our efforts at Place of Hope at the Leighan and David Rinker Campus and their influence and handprints are within every cottage and building,” said Director of Advancement Lisa McDulin. Amy Kazma received the Leigh Roberts Rinker Angel of Hope Award, Bonnie Hildebrand received the Service Award, Wendy Sadusky received the Mission Support Award and I proudly received the Advocacy and Awareness Award. A true honor for us all!
Junior League of Boca Raton Raises the Bar

Happy hour never looked so good! The Endowment Fund of the Junior League of Boca Raton’s annual fundraiser, Raise the Bar, was held on April 27 at Rocco’s Tacos. The event raised more than $30,000 for the Junior League. Behind the bar stood local celebrity bartenders including Victoria Matthews and Dorothy MacDiarmid, who raised the most money at the event, Victoria Jones, Kevin Ives, Niki Knopf, Cliff Viner, Pamela Weinroth, Christina Irving, Dennis Gavin, Kevin Rafferty, Linda Gunn-Paton, Mark Nadzam, Andrea Virgin and myself. Let’s just say thank goodness the Rocco’s Tacos team pre-made the margaritas for us!
Best Foot Forward’s Record-Breaking Bash

An enchanted evening all around for the Best Foot Forward team and those who attended the 2023 Best Foot Forward Bash on April 22 at the Polo Club of Boca Raton. More than $1,470,000 was raised thanks to the generosity of the 500 guests in attendance, donors and sponsors. Funds will be used to expand Best Foot Forward academic programs and support foster care and at-risk youth in Palm Beach County.
Luminaria Across America

Boca Raton was one of several cities across America that paused Mother’s Day weekend to honor loved ones with Luminaria 2023. The event was held at Sanborn Square on May 13 in support of empowerHER, an international nonprofit that empowers, supports and connects children and young adults who have experienced the loss of a parent.
MADD Makes Strides in the Fight Against Drunk Driving

Supporting the ongoing fight against drunk and drugged driving, over 1,000 South Floridians participated in the 12th Annual UKG & The Salah Foundation Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K presented by the Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County and UBS on May 7. The event raised over $225,000 to benefit MADD Broward & Palm Beach’s community education, victim support services and youth prevention programs.
