We know that life is just better here in Palm Beach County, but it’s nice for others to recognize it, too.

Travel + Leisure magazine announced its World’s Best Awards and the Palm Beach International Airport was ranked the third best in the nation. We’re not surprised by the high ranking, especially since it has more than a dozen restaurants as well as access to domestic and international destinations. Ahead of our local airport was Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (1) and Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (2); the only other Florida airport to make the top 10 list was Tampa International Airport (8).

Three local hotels ranked in the top 15 in Florida—The Colony Hotel (2), The Breakers (9) and The Ben West Palm (13). We love seeing a mix of old, classic properties with a newer addition. The hotel that took the No. 1 spot was Little Palm Island Resort & Spa in Little Torch Key.

The scoop on how these rankings were tabulated: More than 186,000 Travel + Leisure readers completed a survey, giving their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, and other hospitality categories. From there, voting opened, and the magazine received more than 700,000 votes across 8,700 properties and locations.

Hopefully, we’ll see some of our South Palm Beach County properties make the list next year!
