The resurgence of the once-forlorn Downtown at the Gardens mall continues with the debut of another new restaurant, Paris in Town, Le Bistro (11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Ave., 561/622-1616).
The tres French eatery is the second for owners Beni and Diane Himmich, who also own the more casual Paris in Town, Le Cafe in North Palm Beach. Located behind Whole Foods in the carousel courtyard, the 2,600-square-foot restaurant boasts an elegant, contemporary bistro decor, with rich golden walls, red leather banquettes, globe pendant lighting and a zinc-topped bar. Views of Lake Victoria too.
The menu includes all the French bistro classics, from escargot, salad Lyonnaise and ratatouille to steak tartare, bouillabaisse and coq au vin. There are even plans for a crepe cart to set up outside the restaurant. Prices, btw, are bistro-friendly, with most entrees coming in under $20.
