West Palm Beach-based nonprofit Promise Fund has expanded its life-saving programs to three new locations in West Palm Beach, Boynton Beach and Hollywood.
At these new sites—collocated at Federally Qualified Health Centers in Broward and Palm Beach County—women in underserved communities will be provided mammograms, pap smears and some cancer treatments at little to no cost. The sites are located at Genesis Community Health Center in Boynton Beach; BCOM Broward Community & Family Health Centers in Hollywood; and FoundCare/Yolette Bonnet Center in West Palm Beach.
The expansion is Promise Fund’s largest to date and will further its mission of increasing survivorship from breast and cervical cancers. Each location includes advanced equipment and technology designed to detect cancer early and provide treatment. A Promise Fund “Navigator” will be onsite at each location to offer support for every step along the way.
Since Promise Fund’s founding in 2018, it has provided services to more than 66,000 women, including more than 20,000 screenings and cancer treatment for 249 women. With this expansion, Promise Fund expects to help thousands more.
“Through our pilot program at FoundCare in Palm Springs, we’ve already seen a remarkable increase in screenings,” said Promise Fund founder Nancy Brinker in a statement. “We’ve proven this model works, and now we’re taking it to scale. We can and must do everything in our power to ensure no woman dies simply because she lacked access to care. That has always been our mission—and our promise.”
