BeautyBoca is about to showcase the best of Boca Raton beauty, style, fashion and wellness on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at The Addison. This one-day expo will feature hands-on demonstrations, personalized consultations and workshops, among other purposeful programming. “It will be a fun and fabulous wonderland of creativity and imagination,” says BeautyBoca Executive Director Christina Forward.
The lineup of brands and experts is already impressive, but we are very excited to see the latest collection by fashion designer and Project Runway Season 7 alum Jesus Estrada go down the runway. “We are so honored to partner with Jesus and his team and thrilled to introduce him to the South Florida community,” says Paige Kornblue, renowned media personality and co-host of BeautyBoca.

Having launched his own fashion house in 2008, Estrada and his twin brother Antonio Estrada joined forces in 2012 as co-founders of The Estrada Twins. With studios in Armonk, New York and their line sold at prestigious Bergdorf Goodman, there are no limits for this dynamite duo bursting with creativity, love, inclusivity and big dreams. As the brothers get ready to present at BeautyBoca, I interviewed Jesus to learn more about his career and designs.
What inspires you as a designer?
I spent my entire childhood growing up with the purpose to heal women through fashion, specifically my mother.
What would you mainly attribute to your brand’s success?
Definitely getting my clothing line into Bergdorf Goodman.
Describe the woman you design for.
I love designing for all women who share the love of fashion with me.
Project Runway looks so daunting from a viewer’s perspective, how was the experience for you? What was the biggest takeaway from being on that show?
The experience was a little intimidating, being the youngest contestant in a room of highly successful people. However, it gave me the confidence to grow into the designer I am today. The experience was life changing because I found my identity and realized that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life.
You joined forces with your brother, Antonio. How do you complement each other and have you learned something new about one another in the process of working together?
As identical twins, we’ve always had a very close bond. We have a lot of fun in the studio, we bounce ideas off each other often, he has a really great eye and is such a perfectionist. I value his opinions as one of the best fashion designers, celebrity makeup artists and stylists I’ve ever met.
What has been the most challenging aspect of starting and growing your brand?
Definitely taking risks, going out on your own at such a young age is scary.

Having achieved so much already, where do you envision your brand five years from now?
The Estrada Empire is going to be on the level of Armani, Carolina Herrera, Oscar De La Renta and I can’t wait.
What is the best advice you’ve received in business and/or life?
To stay humble and surround yourself with good and successful people.
You’re coming to Boca Raton to showcase your latest collection at BeautyBoca on Oct. 25. What makes Boca Raton and this event the perfect avenue to showcase your designs?
A lot of my clients in New York are also in or have family in South Florida. I’ve always loved South Florida, it feels like a second home to me. I am grateful to be here with so many other luxury brands all in one place.
What can guests expect to see go down the runway?
This collection is elegant and ready to wear off the runway to your next luncheon, dinner in Palm Beach or even Miami. This represents the DNA of Estrada.
In three words, how would you describe your overall aesthetic?
Elegant, chic, timeless.
Which celebrity would you love to dress?
Sarah Jessica Parker
