Avi Sekerel, owner of Saquella Cafe in Boca Raton, has opened Prosecco Cafe (4580 PGA Blvd., 561-622-3222) in Palm Beach Gardens.
As befitting its name after Italy’s iconic sparkling wine, Prosecco puts a more upscale, European spin on things, with granite-topped tables, leather chairs, a variety of artwork and a health-oriented menu at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Among featured dishes are a Tuscan omelet with pesto, brie and caramelized onions; roast beef sandwiches from in-house roasted beef; pistachio-crusted grouper with mango salsa; and a variety of desserts, which are served in small portion to help take some of those excess holiday pounds off.
Despite the cafe’s more upscale ambiance, check averages run between $10 and $12, which probably deserves a toast too.
