The Boca restaurant scene is certainly heating up, as evidenced by the previous two posts regarding Wild Olives becoming (Todd) English Tap & Beer Garden and Philippe Chow moving into the space formerly occupied by III Forks.
The latest proof is the rumor that Miami’s chic meatery, Red, The Steakhouse, will be dishing up designer beef in the old Mario’s of Bova-slash-Bova Cucina space on Military Trail. That’s supposed to happen by the end of the year but I’m going to try to nail it down a little firmer than that.
Judging from Red’s Miami menu, look for USDA Prime aged Angus beef with a variety of optional sauces and toppings, plus pastas, seafood and the usual steakhouse assortment of appetizers. Look for the usual steakhouse prices too, with steaks going from $39 to $89 (for a 48-ounce porterhouse).
