If you’re a Boca parent, you probably remember a time (before kids, obviously) when Spring Break actually felt like a break. Fast forward a decade into motherhood, and I’ve learned that this week off from school in March (March 16-20 this year) is anything but…especially if you’re staying home.
Back when my only child needed more hands-on attention (she’s in middle school now), I was trying to juggle work, track down local activities and do everything I could to limit screen time during the break. It was making me crazy. Then, Spring Break CAMPS entered the picture and honestly, that changed everything for us. They can for your family too!
Whether your child is into sports, science, gymnastics, art, field trips—you name it, this Boca mom has a well-researched recommendation. I’ve also rounded up several of my local favorites below, so you can put the B-R-E-A-K back into that week, at least during business hours…
Camp Twisters in Boca Raton and Coconut Creek

If your child loves climbing, jumping, running and flipping, then they will have a blast at Twisters! This spring break camp includes gymnastics instruction, arts & crafts, movie time, fun and games for kids ages 5 and up. My daughter informed me that there’s also a fair amount of open play. In addition to spring break and summer camp, Twisters hosts many fun days throughout the school year, especially during holidays and teacher work days. It’s an air-conditioned lifesaver!
Bricks Bots & Beakers in Boca Raton

Whether your kids are obsessed with bugs or Pokémon, B3 has a camp for them! At their east Boca location, curious young minds can dive into the amazing world of bugs this spring break. Campers will get up close and personal with live insects like butterflies, crickets and ladybugs through exciting observations and experiments. In west Boca, budding Pokémon trainers should get ready to strap on their badges and enjoy five, fun-filled, action-packed days of Pokémon-themed adventures, designed for campers ages 5-10. They’ll explore their Trainer skills, solve puzzles, get creative and battle all the way to victory!
artNEST in Boca Raton, Delray Beach or Coral Springs

If you’re seeking something creative (and screen free!) for your kids, sign them up to spend their spring break totally immersed in the fun, freeing art environment that is artNEST Studios. At this camp, campers ages 3.5-9 will explore different art mediums, learn about artists, experiment with a variety of styles and truly get to let loose in the studio!
Mini Camp at the J

Mini Camp at the J is one of those easy, reliable camp options I love recommending each year. It’s perfect for kids Pre-K- Grade 5 and keeps them happy and entertained all day long. Swimming, sports, crafts, playground time and fun entertainment are mixed in throughout the day, basically anything kids could want when they’re on break. Plus, daily snacks are included, which is a parenting win! If you’re planning even further ahead, they’re also offering Passover Camp on March 30-31, April 6-7 and 10.
Woodmont Camp at Grandview Preparatory School
Held at Grandview’s east Boca campus, Woodmont Camp offers a great mix of sports, swimming, crafts, special events and both indoor and outdoor activities. This is a camp that checks all the boxes. I love that it’s structured enough to feel organized, but still fun enough that campers come home happy and exhausted…in the best way. They also offer flexible schedules.
