We’ve certainly had plenty of chill here in South Florida lately. Add a little lounge and you’ve got the second annual Chillounge Night, set to go off in downtown Delray Beach on Saturday, Feb. 5.
The brainchild of Sarasota gallery owner Rainer Scheer, the Delray event (which this year includes Chillounges in Sarasota, Orlando, Tampa, St. Petersburg and Fort Lauderdale) will feature a giant outdoor club on the Great Lawn, a bucolic patch of green between Old School Square and Northeast 2ndAvenue.
Daybeds and all manner of outdoor furnishings will be set up, along with a stage for live music, dance performances and a fashion show, as well as restaurant and liquor booths and a cigar lounge. Also among the festivities will be the Chillounge Night Daybed Parade, a Brazilian Samba Parade, fireworks show at 10 p.m., and music by Alex Romano and the Music Fusion Band and the Terry Cooper Band.
The Delray Chillounge will benefit Nat King Cole Generation Hope, a non-profit organization that supports music education in SoFla schools. It’s scheduled for from 6 to 11 p.m., with tickets costing $20 and available atwww.chilloungenight.com/delray_beach.html A limited number of VIP tickets are also available for $100, which includes complimentary food and booze and access to the VIP section.
