No child is too young to volunteer.
I know I am one of many moms looking for simple ways for my young children to do so… and ways we can do so together.
Volunteering is not only a wonderful way to give back, but it also provides numerous health benefits for people of all ages.
However, the legalities and age requirements of many charities and organizations (all of which are understandable) often stop younger people from having the opportunity to serve. And with life so busy these days, we need some quick and easy projects that don’t take much prep or follow-up.
So here begins Kornblue Kiddos, where I will share with you simple ways to get your kiddos giving back in communities near and far before they get to high school and it becomes a community service hour chore. Pick a project and let your kiddos fly—they can get friends and neighbors involved, too!

Collect Some Diapers – Host a Diaper Drive!

Help the Boca West Children’s Foundation break its record of collecting 180,000 diapers for The Diaper Bank, Covering South Florida, during its 8th Annual Diaper Drive. The Diaper Bank, Covering South Florida ensures that low-income families in South Palm Beach and North Broward Counties receive necessary diapers for children in need. Diapers can be donated by visiting bocawestfoundation.org or dropped off at Boca West Country Club on Feb. 21 from 8 a.m.-noon in the tennis loop. Diapers in size 4, 5 and 6 are particularly needed.
Collect Some Books – Host a Book Drive!
The Junior League of Boca Raton Learning Libraries Committee needs our help collecting new books for kids in grades Kindergarten through 5th. All books will be donated to Title 1 Schools in Boca Raton and Delray Beach. Host a book drive or help your children do so to get more books into the hands of children. Contact Ami Zak at amizak@uniquegiftsandpremiums.com or Valentina Moretti at valmoretti@gmail.com to participate.
