Not content with taking the local dining scene by storm with his superlativeBuccan (350 South County Rd., 561/833-3450), chef-restaurateur Clay Conley will soon open an Asian-slash-small plates-slash-sushi eatery next door to the downtown Palm Beach hotspot. Imoto (“little sister”) will seat about 40 and share back-of-the-house operations with Buccan. Expect a December or January debut. More details when they become available.

New ‘cue for the north county comes in the form of the recently opened Mrs. Smokeys Bar-B-Q (1460 10th St., 561/318-5137) in Lake Park. Descended from a New York City parent, the modest eatery features the usual assortment of barbecued items, from ribs to brisket to pulled pork, as well as such signatures as smoked chicken noodle soup, nacho-style tater tots and a “Backyard Cobb” salad. Fried pickles too. In other barbecue news, coming soon to Delray is Big Momma’s Smokehouse BBQ, which will join siblings already up and running in Palm Beach Gardens, Royal Palm Beach and most recently, West Palm.

“Love often, laugh a lot,” is a fine motto but apparently it wasn’t enough to keep its acronymical namesake in business. Wendy Rosano’s LOLA in West Delray is down for the count, with the phone disconnected. It’s been replaced by Kontiki Too,a Asian-all over the culinary map small plates restaurant. Stick around for more details on that too.
