It’s one up and one down on the restaurant scene this week.
On the up side, it looks like the old ZED 451 space won’t be empty for long.Yardhouse brewpub, which already has Florida locations in Palm Beach Gardens and Coral Gables, is said to be taking over the capacious Mizner Park spot with an eye to opening. . . well, sometime soon. The company website says July, but we know that’s not going to happen. Sto if you’re thirsting to check out its extensive roster of house-brewed suds, plus bottles from all over, and equally lengthy menu of beer-friendly American grub, you’ll have to wait a little longer. How much longer I’ll let you know as soon as get hold of someone in corporate.
Down for the count is Boca Raton’s Copper Canyon Grill, whose demise has been rumored for almost as long as Generalissimo Francisco Franco’s. The casual American eatery just off I-95 at Glades Road closed last week and, contrary to other rumors, will resume operation under a different name and/or concept. A call to the restaurant inquiring about all this wasn’t returned, but one employee at least professed no idea that her job would go, say we say, up the canyon.
