If your Memorial Day weekend was more hectic than holiday, chill out with a relaxed “Dinner in the Garden” at Tanzy (301 Plaza Real, Boca Raton, 561/922-6699) the stylish Mizner Park eatery next to the giant iPic Theatre. Beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, May 29 and 30, the dinner will feature specialty cocktails and dishes inspired by the fresh herbs from Tanzy’s on-site garden. Top toque Andre Lane and mixologist-sommelier Adam Seger will put in an appearance too. Cost for the four-course meal is $38 per person, with a cocktail flight for an additional $20.They liked it so much they’re doing it again. “They” would be the folks atPistache French Bistro (101 N. Clematis St., 561/833-5090) in downtown WPB. “It” would be the “Tour du Monde,” a four-month-long culinary journey that has the restaurant taking diners from Russia to Morocco to Spain and more. The journey consists of nine dinners—each featuring a different country’s cuisine—spread out from May to September. Get your “passport” stamped at seven of them and you’ll be eligible for a trip to Paris. The Tour kicks off on Friday, May 31, with the restaurant’s fifth anniversary party, plus food, champagne specials and live music.
It’s Rocco’s birthday and you’re all invited. Yup, perpetual party boy Rocco Mangel is turning the dreaded Four-Oh, and he’s celebrating on Saturday, June 1, at his Rocco’s Tacos (5090 PGA Blvd., 561/429-4758) in Palm Beach Gardens. The party gets started at 7 p.m., with Rocco himself (in his signature white shoes) pouring free Patron from atop the bar, plus $5 margaritas, $15 beer pitchers, $3 Coronas and Corona Lights, and the reggae band, Spred the Dub.
