The most highly anticipated issue of Sports Illustrated is out now, and you might recognize a familiar backdrop.
The magazine’s swimsuit issue dropped Tuesday, and the athlete models were all photographed at The Boca Raton resort over the winter. The models include Olympic medalists Jordan Chiles, Gabby Thomas, Sunisa Lee, Eileen Gu, Nelly Korda, Caroline Marks, Toni Breidinger and Ali Truwit.
There are multiple cover versions of the magazine, with Salma Hayek, Olivia Dunne, Jordan Chiles, and Lauren Chan gracing the covers.
Back in December, the athletes were teasing their photo shoots on social media and the sports magazine simply shared that they were on location in Boca Raton. But anyone from around here could see that it was The Boca Raton, with its Spanish-inspired architecture that Addison Mizner was known for.
“The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue is globally recognized as a symbol of women’s empowerment, diversity, and inner and outer beauty,” Daniel Hostettler, president and CEO of The Boca Raton, said in a press release. “It’s especially poignant to join the brand’s legacy during a milestone year as we celebrate an exciting new chapter in The Boca Raton’s evolution.”
