It’s become something of a cliche to say that chefs are the new rock stars. At the Recipe Project, they’re even acting like rock stars.
It’s the brainchild of musicians Michael Hearst and Joshua Camp, otherwise known as One Ring Zero, who have teamed up with a bunch of rock star chefs to create a book and CD package called The Recipe Project: A Delectable Extravaganza of Food and Music.
Hearst and Camp’s “extravaganza” includes interviews with celebrity chefs, odes to food and music by an assortment of writers, and videos that feature chefs and their colleagues putting their recipes to music. Among the rock star wannabe’s are Mario Batali, Tom Colicchio, Michael Symon and Chris Cosentino.
Cosentino’s contribution, described as “a fast, raucous ode to white-boy hip-hop jams and edible offal,” and entitled Brains and Eggs, is available here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axwZUXKxAiY
