Florida Atlantic University’s attempt to head off an investigation of its presidential search has failed.
In a letter this week to Brad Levine, chairman of the FAU trustees, State University System Chancellor Ray Rodrigues said the system’s Board of Governors (BOG) would investigate the search firm’s use of a questionnaire that asked about sexual orientation. Rodrigues referred to “additional anomalies that remain to be investigated.”
Rodrigues said the investigation, which BOG General Counsel Julie Leftheris will lead, “will be thorough, fair, and a determination will not be reached in haste.” The search thus remains suspended. Rodrigues first raised questions two days after FAU had chosen three finalists. They did not include State Rep. Randy Fine, R-Palm Bay, whom Gov. DeSantis had supported.
I’ll have more next week.
