Time to lace up for a good cause: the Homecoming Run for Autism 2014 is coming up on Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Florida Atlantic University’s track and field complex (777 Glades Road, Boca Raton).

Participants can choose between a 5k or a one-mile family fun run or walk, both of which start at the university track. The one-miler comes first, starting at 4:45 p.m., while the 5k run or walk begins at 5:15 p.m.

The 5K event takes runners and walkers through FAU’s football stadium and finishes on the university’s track. There are prizes for the top runner and fundraising teams.

The run benefits the FAU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities, which provides free expert consulting, training and support to people with autism and related disabilities, their families and the professionals serving them.

Cost to register: $27.50 for the 5k and $12 for the one-miler.
