Do your children enjoy sushi? Of course they do! They’re Boca kids—used to the finest of everything, including global cuisine.
But do they know how to make it themselves? This weekend is their chance to learn because Benihana Boca Raton is pleased to introduce a special sushi-making class for their youngest guests, ages 3 to 8, with an adult sous chef (aka parent) on March 30 at 11 a.m.
Aptly named “Sushi & Me,” the interactive experience will introduce local children to the fun of sushi-making and provide hands-on instructions for assembling signature Benihana rolls such as the California Roll, Shrimp Crunchy Roll and candy sushi for dessert.

Having gone through a special trial run of the class earlier this month with my 5 year-old daughter and 2 year-old nephew (who was too young to participate, but still enjoyed watching), it’s fun and just challenging enough to be a satisfying “cooking” experience for the whole family. Plus you get to eat all of the sushi afterwards, yum!

Lasting approximately 90 minutes, a Benihana master chef will provide your family with all of the ingredients and insider tips to making the perfect sushi roll. It is definitely harder than it looks, but enjoyable as you attempt to perfect rolling everything up into something resembling a sushi roll. To finish off the class, your kids will assemble “candy sushi” which I promise they’ll want to consume on the spot.
Each ticket is $55 and includes a Benihana child and adult apron, one “Sushi & Me” certificate, and a commemorative photo. Tickets are valid for one child and one adult. Additional details on the event, including tickets, can be found here.
Bon appetit!
