It’s that time of year again. Black ties are slipping into the sock drawer, ball gowns are rustled into the back of the closet and you can feel a change is coming. It’s getting to be the tail end of gala season and time to lighten up.
Even saddle up.
This Saturday is the Rhinestone Cowboy Ball, one of the George Snow Scholarship’s signature events of the year. And you can wear whatever works for you, from bedazzled jeans and boots to a flashy party dress, to full-on Gunsmoke; at this point in the year, no one cares as long as Spanx and cummerbunds are not part of the picture.
This year’s fun party will be at Boca West Country Club at 6:00 p.m. In past years the party has featured rocking bull rides (and alligator rides) as well as whiskey tastings and square dancing. There is no end to the shenanigans. The food is great, the vibe is relaxed, and the cause is mighty.
The George Snow Scholarship Fund began in 1982 as a memorial fund for the late George Snow, who shared the belief that education is the key to a better life for the young people of Palm Beach and Broward counties. The Fund is dedicated to helping deserving students within the community achieve their career goals through their pursuit of higher education. Last year, the Fund raised millions of dollars.
This year, the event will also honor Bonnie Halperin with the Community Service Award and The Junior League of Boca Raton with the Corporate Community Service Award.
Tickets start at $325 and can be purchased here. Call or email Amy Greene for more information on sponsorship opportunities at 561/347-6799 ext. 114 or agreene@scholarship.org.
We’ll see you there!
