A few more details on the Yard House restaurant-tap room, coming in mid-May to the old Cartoon Museum location in Boca’s Mizner Park.

The Mizner location will be the 34th bar-restaurant in the U.S., one of six to debut between now and next summer. It will feature approximately 130 local and regional beers on tap (no bottles), as well as an extensive menu that ranges from bar food-type snacks to more elaborate and upscale entrees.

In your mouth that means starters like chicken nachos, firecracker pork ribs and coconut shrimp and mains like roasted turkey pot pie, porcini-crusted halibut and New York strip steak with garlic-herb fries. Also look for a roster of pizzas, burgers and sammies, and a variety “gardein” dishes made with a soy-based meat substitute.

In terms of looks, the Mizner Yard House will follow the same design format as the other eateries in the chain, with an oval bar in the center of the restaurant surrounded by high-top tables, plus an exhibition kitchen, plethora of flat-screen TVs (for the sports’ minded), lots of wood and stainless steel and exposed ductwork, splashily colorful artworks by California artist Jerome Gastaldi, and a rock ‘n’ roll playlist crafted by Yard House founder Steele Platt.

As the old saying goes, “Beer. It’s not just for breakfast any more.”
