Help a Furry Friend at Tri County Animal Rescue Shelter

Since 1996, Tri County has been helping dogs find a forever home. However, it takes time to find a home and these dogs need to be walked, played with, and socialize with others. Volunteer as a dog walker and be able to give these rescue dogs the attention they deserve. To learn more about volunteer opportunities, click here.

Volunteer at the Lord’s Place

The Lord’s Place provides solutions that break the cycle of homelessness for people in Palm Beach County. For more than 40 years they have been helping people find their path to a home. This summer they’re offering many different volunteer opportunities including:

Cafe Joshua serves hot meals every weekday from 11 a.m to 1 p.m to its homeless clients. As a volunteer, help greet clients, take orders and serve food. On top of that, act as table companions and form valuable connections with diners.

Help organize the resource closet. This closet is stocked with essentials that its homeless clients need. As a volunteer, help sort and keep the closet neat and help the client find the things they need.

Partake in the literacy program to help clients improve their skills to get employment or a GED. Volunteers with teaching or tutoring experience are preferred.

Donate goods and services to help directly support their clients. Current needs are:

  • Casual, comfortable clothing and accessories
  • Household items/cleaning supplies
  • New personal care/hygiene items
  • Business casual clothing
  • backpacks/duffel bags/suitcases
  • Non-perishable food
  • Recycled electronics
  • Donated vehicles

You can drop off these items at The Fortin Family Campus, 2808 North Australian Ave., West Palm Beach Monday through Friday.
