Its name may be misleading, but the legendary German festival in Munich is mainly celebrated in September, this year from Sept. 20 to Oct. 5, to be exact. That said, across the pond, most of us celebrate it in October with plenty of refreshing German beers, pretzels and schnitzel. Here’s where to join in the festivities around town:
Boca’s Biergarten will host its festivities on Oct. 11. biergartenboca.com
Further south, check out Checkers Old Munchen on Oct. 17 for its celebration. checkersoldmunchen.com
Marina Village in Fort Lauderdale will host its Prost by the Coast experience on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 6-8 p.m. marinavillageftl.com
Funky Buddha is serving up a three-week Oktoberfest party from now until Sunday, Oct. 5. There will be plenty of seasonal beers on tap and traditional Bavarian food to enjoy as well. It all culminates at the Oakland Park Oktoberfest celebration Oct. 3-5 at Jaco Pastorius Park. funkybuddha.com
