Women are changing the game, in sports and in life. A group of top female executives kicked off the 2023 Boca Raton Bowl season with an event at Hilton West Palm Beach that highlighted their successful career journeys and thoughts on sports, business, parenthood and life. The annual Women Changing the Game event presented by FPL featured ESPN Vice President of Production Amanda Gifford, ESPN Radio Host Amber Wilson and Florida Sports Foundation President and CEO Angela Suggs.

We are wives and mommies and daughters and caregivers and all things to all people and we look good and we work hard. We find a way to get it done, at all hours of the day.

Some of us run a home, a company, a medical practice, a store or a classroom.

Some of us, like ESPN Vice President of Production Amanda Gifford, orchestrate the production of countless collegiate football games each week while making sure to make it to her daughter’s 3 p.m. volleyball game on Tuesday.

Some of us, like Florida Sports Foundation CEO Angela Suggs, lead organizations that make a difference on so many levels and in all of our communities.

Some of us produce and host shows on-air like ESPN Radio Host Amber Wilson and WPTV/WFLX FOX 29’s Sports Anchor Keli Ferguson, to inform and enlighten the rest of us, both moms and wives who break down games and watch football pass after pass while passing the sippy cup and the children’s Tylenol across the table.

None of it is easy. There’s a juggle and a struggle in it all, especially those of us with children and spouses and partners and even parents at home. Or those of us going at it solo. Or those of us hit with an unexpected health diagnosis or circumstance or challenge.

How do we do it?

We listen. We learn. We collect gems and nuggets along the way. We lean. We lean on our villages and our mentors. We prioritize and we love. We love at home and we love at work. We huddle up and we go. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
