When it comes to sun-soaked shores, white sandy beaches, and an air of sophistication, there’s no place quite like Southwest Florida. For those of us on the east coast of the Sunshine State, it’s an easy two-hour drive across Alligator Alley and perfect for a one-tank weekend getaway solo, for couples, families and friends. Hurricane Ian did a number on the region and as some still work to recover and rebuild, much of the area is back open for business and in need of our support. Let’s dive into the best places to stay and indulge on the Southwest side of Florida!
The Capri Inn

Nestled in the heart of downtown Naples, The Capri Inn offers newly renovated rooms, oversized bathrooms, one private cottage and an idyllic location with close proximity to many dining, shopping and coastal attractions. You can easily enjoy the culinary delights of downtown Naples’ restaurants and hop on a hotel bike to explore the local shops and beaches. Don’t miss out on nearby marine adventures such as boat tours, fishing excursions and waterfront strolls… and The Capri Inn’s complimentary shuttle rides, check-in champagne, delicious locally-made morning pastries and afternoon cookies!
Edgewater Beach Hotel

The only all-suite beachfront resort in Naples offers state-of the-art glass balconies with amazing views of the beach and vibrant sunsets. Wake up to panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico and play all day along a private stretch of recently nourished white-sand-beach. Edgewater Beach Hotel has casual on-site dining, a heated pool, fitness center and even private dining-on-the-sand options. This Opal Collection resort is an ideal retreat for those seeking a quiet, relaxed and reasonably-priced escape with larger suites.
Naples Grande Beach Resort

For a luxury beachfront resort experience with golf, pools and spa at the ready, the Naples Grande Beach Resort beckons. From rejuvenating spa treatments to championship golf, there’s something for everyone at Naples Grande Beach Resort. The rooms and suites are spacious, clean and comfortable and there are three resort pools, one twisting waterslide for kiddos at least 42” and several restaurants. My highlights were time spent in The Spa as well as the open-air tram ride on the boardwalk through a protected mangrove estuary to the resort’s three miles of private sugar-sand beach!
Hyatt Regency Coconut Point – Bonita Springs

This resort destination is a haven of family-friendly delights, offering a range of amenities and activities that make it a fabulous choice for a memorable getaway with your kiddos. The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa is back open but with adjusted amenities due to Hurricane Ian. The private resort beach, Big Hickory Island, is currently under repair and closed as is the Adventure Pool Corkscrew Water Slide but put this hotel in for your winter 2023 and 2024 plans. The resort boasts Stillwater Spa, Spanish Wells Golf & Country Club, numerous water slides for children of all ages and heights, a lazy river, lawn games, firepits, several restaurant options, ocean shuttle boat rides and a nature boardwalk trail.
The Ritz-Carlton Naples

Full transparency, I haven’t stayed here… yet. But I haven’t met a Ritz-Carlton I haven’t liked so it must make my list! Recently redesigned and expanded, The Ritz-Carlton Naples reopened this summer with three new restaurants, updated outdoor spaces, rooms and public areas as well as the Ritz’s largest club lounge in North America. With its private beach, gourmet dining options, pools (including a children’s splash pool) and lavish spa, this iconic resort will not disappoint. I’ll meet you there!
