The South Florida social season kicked into high gear in September with no slow down in sight. The social scene here isn’t just about glitz and glamor; it’s also a kaleidoscope of compassion. Here’s your roundup of society events!
Men Giving Back
Fun and philanthropy. That’s what the nonprofit Men Giving Back of South Palm Beach County is all about. Men Giving Back members gathered on Nov. 15 to give back a lot (perhaps with a bit of Pappy Van Winkle and some cigars on the side) as they awarded 24 deserving charities with donations totaling $530,000. Boca Helping Hands, the Hanley Foundation, the American Association of Caregiving Youth and Love Serving Autism walked away with the largest of the 2023 Men Giving Back Golden Grants. Boys & Girls Club of Boca Raton
The 5th Annual Securing Our Future Soiree benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Boca Raton raised a record breaking $374,000! Supporters gathered at Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club on Oct. 26 for cocktails, dinner and a reception chaired by Michelle Hagerty. The Boys & Girls Club of Boca Raton works to help youth of all backgrounds develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders, offering daily access to a broad range of after-school and development programs.
Hope Bash
Place of Hope at The Leighan and David Rinker Campus hosted a beautiful 10th Annual Hope Bash at Boca West Country Club on Nov. 4. Co-chairs Dr. Leighan Rinker and Kelly Fleming led the way as Place of Hope honored Sharon and Mark Warren and Moss Construction with the 2023 Jay DiPietro Hero of Hope Awards. Place of Hope rescues more than 1,000 abused and neglected children and youth. You can help make this holiday season miraculous for them by donating a gift off their wish list.
Spirit of Giving
Black ties took a timeout on Nov. 8 at BRiC. Collegiate team colors and jerseys were sported in the spirit of giving and tailgating as dozens of Boca Raton’s best local chefs, brew masters and mixologists served up “Food, Fun and Fundraising” with delicious tailgate-inspired bites and toasts for the annual ABC Supply RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl Great Chefs Tailgate Showcase, presented by Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRiC) and CP Group. The event raised much-needed funds for Spirit of Giving and its Annual Holiday Gift Drive that brings holiday magic to more than 6,000 underprivileged children. The tailgate competition was one of several countdown events to the 2023 RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl that kicks off Dec. 21 at 8 p.m. in FAU Stadium, and will air live nationally on ESPN, ESPN Radio and locally on ESPN 106.3 FM.
Twilight on the Waterfront at The Boca Raton
It’s tough to top Twilight on the Waterfront! The Boca Raton reintroduced the Yacht Club (one of five on-site resort properties) and previewed the new champagne terrace this fall with Moet & Chandon and elegant bites from the Yacht Club’s exclusive dining concept Flybridge. The champagne terrace is expected to open in December to Yacht Club guests and resort members. And just when you think a place can’t get any better, the Forbes Five-Star Beach Club is set to get a nearly $100 million makeover starting April 1.
Cheers to 60 Years!
