Together we sure get a lot accomplished in this community. Helen Keller once said “Alone we can do so little; together, we can do so much” and that’s just what Boca Raton is all about. We gather. We give. We celebrate. With that in mind, here’s part two of your spring roundup of Boca society events!
YMCA INSPIRATION BREAKFAST
In a morning filled with motivation and community spirit, FOX Sports veteran reporter Erin Andrews took center stage on March 6 as the keynote speaker at the YMCA of South Palm Beach County’s annual Inspiration Breakfast. More than $500,000 was raised thanks to the hundreds of supporters in attendance. Proceeds from the event help fund scholarships for individuals and families to participate in Y programs and will specifically help send local children to summer camp. Pro Football Hall of Famer and current FAU Executive Director of Player Engagement Cris Carter helped kick off the YMCA Inspiration Breakfast season at a VIP reception. Carter shared stories of his childhood and YMCA ties, and his collegiate and pro career with the Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins.
ANGEL MOMS BRUNCH & BENEFIT

For the love of flowers… and angels. Hundreds of them. Angel Mom volunteers and Place of Hope supporters gathered at Boca West Country Club on April 12 for the 10th Anniversary Angel Moms Brunch & Benefit “For the Love of Flowers.” The event was inspired by the iconic designs of Oscar de la Renta, presented by Michelle Hagerty and co-chaired by Kathy Adkins, Susan Brockway, Rebecca D’Emic (2024 Angel of Hope Honoree), Renee Feder, Wendy Sadusky, and Haley Winstead. The benefit featured keynote speaker Tori Hope Peterson and raised critical funds for local foster children, former foster youth, homeless youth, single mothers with children, and human trafficking survivors at Place of Hope at The Leighan and David Rinker Campus.

Welcome to Paradise was the phrase of the day in Boca Raton on March 29 as FAU celebrated its new Men’s Basketball Head Coach John Jakus. Jakus spent the last 12 seasons on staff at NCAA basketball powerhouses Baylor and Gonzaga. “I am not just here to say welcome to Paradise, I am going to tell you we are going to win in Paradise, I am going to say this train is not slowing down,” said Jakus. The night was packed with coaching, training, meet and greets with players, food and great fun on the field. Support the Owls at NIL in Paradise.
