For 30 years, licensed real estate agent Scott M. Cohen has specialized in one of the most competitive and coveted markets in the United States: Westchester County, in New York’s Hudson Valley. Since relocating to Boca Raton in 2021, Cohen has brought his decades of Northeastern home sales experience to Balistreri Real Estate. While Cohen maintains his real estate business in Westchester, he describes his transition to Balistreri as “seamless” and considers his new company, with its 60+ years in the South Florida market, as like “being part of a family. And for a buyer or seller, you’re getting a strong support network throughout Balistreri and all of our affiliates.”
With some 50-plus listings on the market at any given time—ranging from multimillion-dollar luxury properties to condominiums and modest starter homes—Cohen’s expertise extends from the Palm Beaches through Broward and into Vero Beach. He credits his success as a real estate agent for his ability to listen intensively to his clients, provide an emotional sounding board when necessary, and respond to their specific needs. “For sellers, it can be very hard for a person to let go of a home where they raised their family. Being a good realtor is 50 percent reassurance,” he says.
In Boca Raton, where he lives in the Camino Gardens subdivision with his longtime husband, fashion entrepreneur Anthony Vecchione, Cohen enjoys paying it forward by supporting his preferred nonprofits, Big Dog Ranch and the Lynn Cancer Center at Boca Raton Regional Hospital.
