Local firefighters, including those in Boca Raton and Delray Beach, have been deployed to Venezuela to assist with recovery efforts after the capital city was rocked by two earthquakes.

On Facebook, Boca Raton Fire Rescue shared that Firefighter Hunter Coddington flew out with FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Florida Task Force 2.

“Our community is proud to stand behind Hunter as he serves those in need,” the department said. “We wish him and his fellow responders a safe mission and a safe return home.”
