Two massive earthquakes rocked Venezuela this week, with an estimated 600 dead and tens of thousands of people reported missing. Local businesses are collecting supplies and donations to help. 

Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), which has brought the community together for other natural disasters, is collecting these supplies to be sent to Venezuela to help with recovery efforts: 

  • Canned goods 
  • Rice, beans, and pasta 
  • Water 
  • Hygiene products 
  • Diapers and wipes 
  • Paper goods 
  • Cleaning supplies 
  • Batteries 

Here are locations around town that are collecting those items to be given to GEM: 

  • Doña Arepa, 515 N.E. 20th St., Boca Raton  
  • La Boulangerie Boul’Mich at Town Center, 6000 Glades Road, Suite 1048-A, Boca Raton (as well as all other locations) 
  • Carmela Coffee, 3200 N. Federal Highway #016; 9658 Glades Road #205, 5560 N. Military Trail in Boca Raton (as well as all other locations) 
  • GalaFresh Supermarket, 23072 Sandalfoot Plaza Drive, Boca Raton 
  • Doctor Chicha, 6063 S.W. 18th St. #103, Boca Raton 
  • Gusticos Bistro, 2249 W. Hillsboro Blvd., Deerfield Beach 

“Every contribution makes a difference,” the team from Doña Arepa wrote on Facebook. “Together, we can show that unity, solidarity, and love for our homeland are always with us.”
