The Quantum Foundation is supporting the Palm Beach County Food Bank (PBCFB) in feeding seniors in need with a $75,000 grant.

The grant will go toward funding the food bank’s Groceries for Seniors Program, which provides bi-weekly containers of nutritious shelf-stable food and recipe cards to low-income seniors throughout the county. Each container holds 13.5 pounds of food, the equivalent of 11.25 meals, and is tailored to meet the nutritional needs of older adults, including low-sodium and low-sugar products, whole grains, and dried beans. The grant will also advance plans for nutrition education sessions led by a registered dietitian at the PBCFB’s Michelle Hagerty Community Kitchen.

“Many older adults in Palm Beach County are living on fixed incomes and facing difficult decisions every day,” said PBCFB CEO Jamie Kendall in a press release. “As housing costs, homeowners’ association fees, insurance premiums, utilities and other essential expenses continue to rise, far too many seniors are forced to choose between paying bills and putting healthy food on the table.”

The PBCFB helps provide meals to the nearly 192,000 food-insecure residents throughout Palm Beach County by procuring food from vendors and wholesalers and distributing it to 200 community partners including food pantries, soup kitchens, and schools. In 2025 alone, the PBCFB distributed over 10.6 million meals to more than 194,000 residents experiencing hunger.
